Famploy ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data, in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
✅ Famploy does NOT sell your personal data to third parties. We do NOT share your data with employers without your explicit action.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address (used for OTP verification and communication)
- Full name, phone number, professional headline
- LinkedIn URL, GitHub URL, portfolio website (optional)
Profile & Career Information
- Skills, years of experience, target job roles
- Preferred locations and work type
- Expected salary range
- Resume file (processed for ATS scoring; not stored permanently)
Usage Data
- Jobs viewed, saved, and applied to
- Application tracking records you create
- Platform usage patterns (pages visited, features used)
Payment Information
- Payment transactions are processed by Razorpay
- We store only plan type, amount, and transaction ID — NOT card details
- Razorpay's privacy policy governs their data handling
Technical Data
- IP address, browser type, device information
- Cookies for session management (no advertising cookies)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve the Famploy platform and features
- Match you to relevant job listings based on your profile
- Pre-fill job application forms via the Chrome Extension
- Generate personalised cover letters and career insights
- Send OTP verification codes and service notifications
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Analyse platform usage to improve our service
- Respond to support requests and grievances
We do NOT use your data for advertising, profiling for third parties, or any purpose beyond providing our core service.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords are never stored — we use OTP-based authentication only
- Database access is restricted with role-based permissions
- Card payment data is never stored on our servers (handled by Razorpay)
In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Razorpay — payment processing (subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy)
- Resend — email delivery for OTP and notifications
- Legal requirements — if required by Indian law or court order
We do NOT share your profile, resume, or contact information with employers or recruiters. You apply to companies directly — we do not send your data on your behalf.
✅ We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies only:
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in
- Preference cookies — to remember your settings
We do NOT use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party marketing cookies.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable Indian data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of your personal data we hold
- Correction — Update inaccurate or incomplete data via Settings
- Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data
- Portability — Export your profile data in a readable format
- Objection — Object to specific uses of your data

8. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Active account data — for as long as your account is active
- Application records — retained for 2 years for your reference
- Payment records — retained for 7 years as required by tax law
- Deleted account data — permanently removed within 30 days
9. Children's Privacy
Famploy is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
